Humanitarian technology connected innovation to essential human outcomes. Construction, housing, manufacturing, and artificial intelligence then brought the same product-and-operations perspective into one of the world’s most fragmented and consequential industries.

Builder means turning an unmet need into a useful product, service, company, or system. Operator means understanding the real workflow—the decisions, handoffs, incentives, exceptions, and accountability that determine whether the idea performs. Partner means assembling the people, domain expertise, capital, suppliers, and trust required to move from concept to delivery.

Consumer products and retail

Stephen spent 17 years at Retail Apparel Services Corp., a 117-store national specialty apparel retailer, serving as Senior Buyer and reporting to the CEO. He also founded and scaled Mikasi, a premium private-label apparel brand spanning denim, leather outerwear, sweaters, woven shirts, tees, and related categories.

That experience created a durable operating foundation: understand the customer, translate insight into a product, price it intelligently, coordinate the supply chain, earn distribution, and learn from what happens in the market.

Humanitarian technology

Through Innovation Africa and related product work, Stephen applied product strategy to energy access, education, field constraints, and measurable improvements in community life. The lesson was lasting: technology is not the outcome. The quality of the human experience is the outcome.

Construction technology today

Today, Construction Technology is the primary expertise. The work includes construction operational intelligence, AI estimating, industrialized housing, cold-formed steel, feasibility, owner representation, supply-chain coordination, product platforms, and the knowledge systems that connect them.

How the disciplines connect

Consumer products taught Stephen to begin with the person, the use case, the price, and the complete path from idea to shelf. Emerging technology added hardware, software, capital, media, partnerships, and adoption. Humanitarian work made field conditions and human outcomes non-negotiable. Construction brought all of those disciplines together inside a physical industry where a product must survive design, engineering, approvals, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, installation, and long-term use.

That connection is the center of the work today. A construction platform is still a product. A housing system still needs customer insight, supply-chain discipline, pricing logic, and a credible commercial pathway. An AI workflow still succeeds or fails based on whether people trust it and whether it improves the decisions they are responsible for making.

Where Stephen creates the most value
